Delungra Anzac Park

12th April 2015

Delungra Anzac Park has recently been upgraded to include new memorial gates, with a pathway to the World War II memorial. The new gates feature the Rising Sun emblem and on either side are painted panels depicting fields of Flanders poppies.

On the reverse of these panels are new Honour Rolls, one side featuring names of some New Zealanders, the other listing the names of those from the district who served during World War 1. These include men from Delungra, Kooloona, Little Plain, Mt Russell, Myall Creek and Graman. Some of these men enlisted with the Inverell Kurrajongs contingents.

Delungra Anzac commemorations include a Supper Dance at the Hall on Friday 24th April at 6pm. Anzac Day will commence with a Dawn Service at the Delungra Cemetery Gates at 6am. Their March, Service and Dedication of the new memorial gates will commence at 10 am.
