Inverell Remembers our World War 1 Nurses

31st March 2015

Recent research has uncovered a number of Inverell district nurses who served during World War 1.

Nurse Mabel Campbell enlisted in August 1915, and although not the first Inverell nurse to go to the War, she was the first nurse to be given an official farewell at the Town Hall and to be presented with the bronze Inverell Medal.

Our research is still a work in progress however we plan to highlight stories of our nurses during the commemoration of the War.

Contributions of stories, photos or memorabillia about inverell district nurses who served during World War 1 would be much appreciated. Please contact us if you have something relevant to share.
