BEVERIDGE, Percy William

Percy was a thirty four year old Grazier when he enlisted at Inverell in January 1916.  His attestation form records he was born in Melbourne to Sarah Beveridge. He had been a member of the Ashford Rifle Club before enlisting for War service.

Percy joined with the men forming the Second Contingent of The Kurrajongs who left Inverell together on 29 February 1916 bound for the Narrabri Camp. After a short stay these men moved onto the Armidale and then Rutherford Camps where they trained before going overseas..  Unfortunately Percy was found to be medically unfit and was discharged due to chronic rheumatism.  He was living at Bundarra in November 1937. His name is inscribed on the Inverell Honor Roll.
