BARTLETT, Victor Gerald

Victor was the son of John and Matilda Bartlett of Delungra and a brother of Roy, one of the men of the Second contingent of the Kurrajongs. Victor was a twenty four year old Farmer when he enlisted in May 1916.

Victor joined the 1st Light Horse Regiment, 23rd Reinforcement. He left Australia on RMS Karmala in February 1917 arriving at Suez the following month.  He served in the Middle East where he suffered periodically from Asthma and was eventually returned to Australia in August 1918.

Victor lived in the Inverell district until his death in 1964.  His name is recorded on the Inverell and Delungra Honor Rolls and at the new Anzac Memorial at Delungra.
