CODRINGTON, Wroughton Alexander

Wroughton, a son of Geoffrey and Ida Codrington, was born in Sydney NSW.  He attended The Kings School in Sydney before returning to his father’s farm near Bingara NSW.

At the age of nineteen he enlisted in Sydney in May 1918 and joined the 4th General Service Reinforcements.  He left Australia for Egypt on HMAT A15 Port Sydney in August. After arriving at Suez the following month he was transferred to the 6th Light Horse Regiment.

Wroughton returned to Australia in 1919 and by 1930 was a Grazier at Boggabri NSW.  His name is recorded on the beautiful marble Kooloona Honor Roll, the Delungra Honor Roll and on the new Anzac Memorial in Delungra.
