WHITE, Alan

Alan was the third son of James and Emmeline White of ‘Edenglassie’ Muswellbrook. He attended The Armidale School where he spent nine years in the Cadets. Before the War he was working at his family property ‘Tucka Tucka’ Yetman. At the age of twenty six he enlisted in Sydney in December 1916 and became a Motor Transport Driver with the Mechanical Transport Reinforcements.

Alan left Australia for England on the ship HMAT A60 Aeneas in October 1917. After arriving in England at the end of December he was attached for duty at Tidworth where there was a large military camp. In February 1919 Alan was discharged and demobilised in London before returning home to Australia in June. Alan died in Sydney in 1960.

Alan White’s name is recorded on the Yetman Honor Roll.
