STARR, Claude

Claude was the second son and third child of Henry and Charlotte Starr and was born in the Armidale district NSW. He was working as a Stockman at Tucka Tucka Station, Yetman when he enlisted at Goondiwindi Queensland in August 1915.

He was a forty four year old single man when he joined the Australian Remount Unit 2, Squadron 7 and left Australia on HMAT RMS Orontes in November 1915 for service in Egypt. When his Unit was disbanded in June 1916 he returned to Australia and discharged.

After the War Claude married and had four children. He died at Cains, Queensland in 1949.
