SHOO (Ah SUE), John

John was a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Shoo or Ah Sue.

When he enlisted in August 1915 at Newcastle he stated he was born at Tingha NSW. He was twenty two years old and had been working as a Miner. He joined the 2nd Battalion, 13th Reinforcement and left Australia for Egypt on HMAT A6 Aeneus in December 1915.

He was transferred to the 54th Battalion in March 1916 and then sent to France three months later. During 1917 he transferred to the 14th Australian Machine Gun Company and in August was wounded in action. John was transferred to England for treatment for a gunshot wound to his back.

John Shoo/Ah Sue returned to Australia in February 1919 and medically discharged.
