WARD, Patrick Michael

Patrick was born at Cook Bridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is not known when he came to Australia.

He left Inverell with six other men in July 1915 to enlist at Liverpool NSW. Patrick listed Inverell as his address on his application for enrolment for Active Service. He was nineteen years old.

After joining the 30th Battalion, D Company he sailed from Australia for Egypt on HMAT A72 Beltana in November. During June 1916 he was sent to France and just one month later was Killed in Action on 20 July 1916. Patrick was buried at Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, France.

Patrick has his name inscribed on the Inverell Honor Roll.
