TINDAL, Archibald Arthur

Archibald was the second son of Charles and Caroline Tindal of Ramornie near Grafton NSW. His birth was registered there in 1888. He was educated in England and prior to WW1 operated one of the family properties, Gunyan Station, Inglewood Queensland.

He was a reservist with the Royal Field Artillery in England and joined the 177th Brigade there. His wife and two children accompanied him to England in August 1915.

Archibald, a 2nd Lieutenant, was killed in action on 8 September 1916 and buried at Guillemont Road Cemetery, Guillemont, France. Three brothers also served, with one, Captain L N Tindal MC killed in action in 1918.

Archibald’s name is inscribed on the Bonshaw Honor Roll.
