COLE, Arnold Harold

Arnold, a son of Joseph and Emma Cole of Nullamanna, was a twenty-five-year-old Farmer when he enlisted in Sydney in November 1916. He was appointed to the Truck Mortar Batteries at Liverpool and Seymour before sailing on HMAT A14 Euripides with the 3rd Battalion, 25th Reinforcement to England in October 1917. He was sent to France in April 1918 where he became ill and needed treatment in hospital. A year later he was sent back to England and admitted to Lord Derby War Hospital at Warrington until his return to Australia. He was discharged in May 1920 and returned to Nullamanna to live and work. Arnold died in Sydney in 1972.
