Long Plain Memorial Hall

7th November 2016

The Long Plain Memorial Hall, east of Inverell, was officially opened in 1922.  The community raised the funds to build the timber hall which could seat 300 people and had a supper room underneath.

At the opening ceremony on Wednesday 7 June 1922 trees were planted for the men of the district who lost their lives during World War 1. They were J.R. Worgan, T. McKenzie, S. Colley, W. Winkworth, H. Dix and Wm. Kent

The Long Plain WW1 Honor Roll has been donated to the Inverell RSL Sub Branch and will be displayed at their Museum at Inverell Pioneer Village.
